Week 11 Term 1 2016 Reflection and Narrows Camp

On Monday I learnt more about when you get your tonsils removed because I was at the hospital having a appointment for my tonsils in the morning and I learnt that when they remove your tonsils they just chop them of but they have to chop them at the very bottom and not to close to the gum or else it will bleed but they also burn this thing at the back called Adenoids [Adenoids sit under a soft plate under your nasal airways], they also get removed in the surgery with the tonsils. On Tuesday I learnt lots more about camp on Wednesday such as, what we are doing, cabin groups, car groups etc. On Wednesday was our first day of camp we did all sorts of orienteering and fun games there I learnt where everything is, where our cabins, toilets, the hall [eating area] and where our activities were for the day we had a range of activities that include, BMX, Archery, Air Rifles, Go Karts, Trolleys and Water slide which was on Thursday. At the trolleys I had two tries before we moved on to the harder side of the hill which was opposite us, we headed over there and I went second I nearly fell off by riding up the side of the hill and coming back done the other hill nearly off the trolleys the parent helpers there thought I was going to fall off but they were wrong I stayed on and earned myself a push of confidence. On Thursday I had the water slide I went down about one hundred times, I loved it, it was so fun and we all got a lot of air at the bottom. On Thursday I learnt how to slide down a big water slide for the first time and how to play this fun orienteering game that evolves trying to find stamps and put them on your paper while trying to tag people with a particular band and if you did tag them then you get one of there rubber bands [lives].I also learnt how to make a fire with matches stick, stones and lots of twigs unfortunately our fire burned out but at least we still had fun. And on Friday I learnt how to play paint ball using a slingshot and how to play paint ball for the first time. I also learnt how to make a delicious pita bun sandwich and how to toast one too. Anyway on camp we had lots of fun, we will remember that camp [Narrows Christen Camp, Hamilton] and we will keep those amazing experiences too. Thanks Mrs Crowe and Mrs Morrow for making our camp fun and enjoyable and tank you Narrows staff for helping us and letting us stay at your camp.
