Monday.....
In the morning on Monday we had assembly and it didn't go that long as Mr McCabe wasn't running the assembly because he must of been getting ready for our day even though we have already got it planned. Anyway during the assembly we congratulated 5 students from our class because they got there Silver Badge and Te Wehi is about to get her Bronze Badge and you usually get that badge when your a year 8. At assembly I learnt that it doesn't matter if you are the teachers pet you still can get a Bronze Badge because there were about 20 Bronze badges handed out. After assembly we moved on to writing and our reading task. I have nearly completed my reading and I have completed my writing. For writing we are doing a report with one of the 8 choices and I'm doing the Giant Panda.
After morning tea we had to go to the ALC for our volleyball session but we didn't end up going to our volleyball session because we got a big talk about fish and polar bears in the other side of the world. Did you know that polar bears are going to be extinct in the next few years because the global warming is getting hottor and hotter in the antarctic. We also learnt that in Spain they don't put toilet paper down the toilet because the paper gets blocked and so they still have toilet paper just you have to put it in a bucket next to you. Next we either got to do our writing, reading, maths or our Science fair research. I chose to do my maths and my science fair research. When I was doing my science fair research I wrote a whole bunch of of questions down and researched them all and wrote what the answer is but in my own words. For Maths we have got a plan that we go by and we have to do what ever the planner says. For maths I ended up doing two activities and I learnt how to change a fraction into a decimal and back again.
In the afternoon we again got to do what ever we want, reading maths and science fair. I decided to do my reading and I have added more information and I have also completed my character description for the two main characters, Mrs Price and Rachel. I learnt what a flat, round, dynamic etc is. Now I know how to write a character description because of the two descriptions that we got sent.
In the middle block we had SSR [Silent Sustained Reading]. We usually have reading for 20 minutes and we had it for half an hour. After reading we had either our reading task, writing or maths. I chose my reading task because I write on the reading sheet that says if you have correct punctuation, vocab etc. Like we have with our writing. Then I went onto maths for the last half an hour of the middle block and I ended up doing one task but I remembered that I have to do my maths before Tuesday week 6 and I still have 1-2 tasks to go so I had an Idea about taking my Ipad to school on Thursday and take a photo of the work that i have to do so I can do it in the weekend because I've got nothing to do.
After lunch we had French and we learnt how to ask how someone is and ask for there name, if they are feeling all right, ask how they are and more. After French we moved on to Jump Jam. Last week the school would have learnt the song freaks, well we did anyway but we 5 classes all started of with that song and obviously I didn't do the Jump Jam so I don't really know what the routine is. Every Wednesday we have French and Jump Jam everyday we do French we learn something knew that's what I love about French.
After morning tea I went to the music room for Jazz band were we took a quick role and got straight into it. We first played Lady Madonna like we played in Senior band before morning tea, followed by What a wonderful world and so on. I love playing in Jazz band because it doesn't matter if your instrument squeaks or if you play the wrong note no one will notice because everyone makes a mistake because all the notes are either very high or very low so all the instruments will squeak. Then we had school singing for the fist time in two weeks. today we sang 5-6 songs one of them included Que Sada and we usually have to sing certain parts for example if was the words were green then the house that represents green which is Puniu would be the only house that sings but today there were no colours on the song because it was a different version for some reason.
After lunch we had maths and as I said yesterday I was going to take my Ipad to school well I did and I got some photos of my maths and I've nearly finished it at home I only need to do about 5 more questions. After that we had our Team Fitness and this time we had to do a Baton Relay. I took a few photos but they are on the camera at school. Everybody looked like they had fun I even had fun watching and cheering on my class. Overall my class got 2nd place and the winners were room 1.

Tuesday......
In the morning we had tech arts and we are currently doing science and we are doing a marble run and I'm doing my marble run with Sophie G. I think we are working together very nicely because we have nearly finished our marble run because we have done about 10 seconds out of 20 seconds. I learnt how to work together and how to use scientific words in the science room.Te Wehi and Julia have nearly finished there marble run with about 15 seconds. We all have different types of ways to make our marble runs and I think we have made a good idea with ours because we have done 2/3's of our marble run and we are going to make the shoots go through the middle through the other side then back through and then it will go around a little more then hopefully we would have completed our marble run of 20 seconds.
After morning tea we had Mrs Brown and with her we did the same as on Monday and we had the choice of reading, maths, science fair and anything else we need to do. I ended up doing my maths for 30 minutes and I completed one task. After maths I went onto writing and I thought I had finished so I checked the list to see if the writing was ticked off on the sheet. But it wasn't so i had to print it off again because it wasn't in my tote tray, so then I had to edit my work and print off the edited copy then tick my name off the sheet that says if I've done my writing. I learnt that when you finish your writing you need to tick it off and put the writing in the pile immediately. 10 Minute before lunch time we had this game in groups of 5-6, we then went around in groups and guessed either a word, a letter or the whole sentence. Who ever guesses the whole sentence wins.

For my maths I did three activities on the same thing, changing a fraction in to a smaller fraction, I learnt how to change fractions into smaller fraction and how to find out if they can be changed into a smaller fraction. Mr McCabe was in our class in the afternoon. It was very quiet except when Mr McCabe went out for a few minutes to go do what ever he needed to do. The whole class was very loud and Raiha even wrote some names down on a note pad with people who were talking and not getting any work done.

The year 8's had one hour to do the test and the year 7's have 55 minutes to do the test and the tests were both different so we got mixed up with year 8's and year 7's on tables. Thursday.....
In the morning I went to band and I learnt how to play about 5 new songs (Just dance by Lady Gaga, Rolling in the deep by Adele, Moves like Jagger by Maroon 5, Riptide and Lady Madonna), because I moved up to senior band even thought I'm only a year 7. I also moved to Jazz band and my friend who also does Clarinet with me also moved up to Senior band and Jazz band.After morning tea I went to the music room for Jazz band were we took a quick role and got straight into it. This week has been a fun week and there is no school on Friday because the teachers are going to visit other schools, there's also no school on Monday next week (week 6) because it is the Queens birthday weekend.
